Ali Moresco shares a critical Lyme Hack: understanding the early signs and symptoms of Lyme disease can make all the difference in preventing long-term illness.
- Learn the Early Signs of Lyme Disease
- Acute Lyme symptoms can often resemble the flu.
- Common signs include fatigue, fever, and body aches.
- Recognizing these early can lead to faster diagnosis and treatment.
- Pay Attention to Rashes
- Lyme-related rashes don’t always look like a classic bullseye.
- They can appear as spotted or widespread across the body.
- Any unusual rash after potential tick exposure should be taken seriously.
- Advocate for Awareness and Education
- Many people are not properly educated on Lyme disease symptoms.
- This lack of awareness can lead to delayed treatment and chronic illness.
- Understanding the signs empowers you to take action early.
Ali’s message is a powerful reminder that early awareness is one of the most important tools in preventing chronic Lyme disease.

Matt Sabatello, Co-Founder of Tick Boot Camp: Hey everybody, I’m here with the brilliant Ali Moresco for our first Lyme Hackathon for Lyme Disease Awareness Month. Ali, I couldn’t be happier to have you on. I’m going to ask you a pretty hard question: if you had to pick the biggest mistake you made during your Lyme healing journey to help others prevent it, what would it be?
Ali Moresco: I don’t know if this is the answer that you’re looking for, but I would say the very first mistake I made in my Lyme and tick-borne disease journey was not knowing the acute signs and symptoms of Lyme disease.
I came home from Northern Michigan—tick city—and I had cold and flu-like symptoms and a spotted rash from my head to my toes. The fact that I didn’t know those were acute Lyme symptoms… I don’t necessarily put that on myself. I put that on the medical and education communities that should be educating the population, state to state, about tick prevention and acute signs and symptoms. So, I would say not knowing those signs and symptoms was my first mistake.
Matt: Thank you so much for sharing that.
