Stefanie Smit’s Lyme Hack

Stefanie Smit

Lyme Disease Tip Summary:

Stefanie Smit, addressing Lyme Warriors, underscores the significance of the lymphatic system in the healing journey from Lyme disease on the Tick Boot Camp Lyme Hackathon. Her insights include:

  1. Understanding the Lymphatic System: Our body, comprising over 50 trillion cells and 5 to 6 hundred lymph nodes, relies on the lymphatic system to eliminate waste. However, increased toxicity in our bodies and environment can overwhelm this system, leading to symptoms like bloating, brain fog, puffiness, swelling, and joint pain.
  2. Herbal Support: Stefanie recommends herbs like Red Root, Mullein, Nettle, Manjistha, and homeopathic remedies to support the lymphatic system, alongside other treatments.
  3. Physical Practices: She suggests incorporating castor oil packs, dry brushing, sauna sessions, and daily movement (like a short walk) to enhance lymphatic functioning.
  4. Diet and Hydration: A healthy diet and staying hydrated are crucial, as 95% of lymph is water. This is particularly important for those actively detoxing from Lyme disease.

Stefanie emphasizes that while many focus on detoxing from Lyme, it’s equally important to support the lymphatic system, which plays a vital role in this process. Her tips aim to help Lyme disease sufferers show love and care for their lymphatic system, enhancing overall health and aiding in recovery.

“Hey, Lyme Warriors. It’s Stefanie and I wanted to take a few minutes of your time to talk about the lymphatic system and the importance of it while you’re healing from Lyme disease. You may not know that we have some 50 plus trillion cells throughout our body and we also have 5 to 6 hundred lymph nodes. Our body works hard every single day to keep it clean. It does this by taking the trash, going around the body, and emptying it into the lymphatic system. Now normally this process works fine. The problem is, is that our bodies and our environments are more toxic than ever. You may notice some of the signs and symptoms of an overwhelmed and overburdened lymphatic system. Some of this looks like bloating, brain fog, puffiness, swelling, and joint pain. Thankfully, there are a lot of things that we can do to support our lymphatic system. Some of my favorite supports are things like herbs. I love Red Root, Mullein, Nettle, Manjistha, and then also homeopathy. Great support for other things that you’re already doing. Some of those other things can be things like castor oil packs, dry brushing, sauna, or getting daily movement in some way, shape, or form, even if it’s just a 15/20 minute walk around the block, it makes a really big impact on your lymphatic system. And then, of course, just a healthy diet and also hydration. 95% of the lymph is made from water. So many of you are working so hard to detox your body which is huge with Lyme disease. Don’t forget to support your lymphatic system and that process with some of these recommendations because it works so hard for us. Let’s show it some love with some of these tips.” – Stefanie Smit
