“Hi everyone, this is Christina Kantzavelos, a psychotherapist at Began Within Today and gluten-free food, travel, and health-conscious lifestyle writer at Buenqemino. Today, I’m gonna invite you to challenge yourself by doing something that takes you out of your comfort zone. That scares you just a little bit. The reason I’m asking for you to do this is that so often when we’ve been sick, especially with Lyme disease and the myriad of symptoms it comes with, we have to restrict ourselves in certain ways, be it with our level of capability or our stamina. The thing is, we’re constantly changing, we’re constantly on this road of healing. And those restrictions that may have needed to be in place for sure at some point, may not need to be as strict as they once were now. And without us lightly challenging that we don’t know. This means our brain, which just wants us to be safe, will do anything in its power to keep us safe, even if that means keeping us stuck in a rut, keeping us in bed, on the couch, or at this certain activity level. It will do that. So, I’d love to find out how you challenge yourself because I know it’s scary, but it’s worthwhile to find out where your line is. I always say the worst-case scenario is you just know that your line is the same, or on the other side you find out you are actually stronger or more energetic than you realized or had once thought. I mean, I have had clients who thought they’d never be able to travel again, who traveled. Never be able to go to school who are in school, who never thought they’d be able to hike and are hiking. I’m just giving some examples and I cannot promise all of these things to everyone, but what I can say is that you are stronger than this disease and you are worth challenging it. So, happy healing and lots of love guys. Take care.” – Christina Kantzavelos
