Max Noir’s Lyme Hack:
“Hi, my name is Max Noir and I have chronic neurological Lyme disease. This year for the Lyme Hackathon, I’ve decided, instead of doing a fun dance or something like that, I think I would just like to talk to you directly. One of the biggest struggles that I have been fighting over my 10-year journey with Lyme disease has been inner guilt and eventually transforming that into inner patients. I went through university with Lyme disease, I’ve held multiple jobs with Lyme disease and the consistent theme has been feeling guilty that I’m not doing enough or I’m not doing well enough because my health isn’t good. This guilt that we hold so deeply inside of us then spirals into this anxiety which makes the whole process cyclical and much worse. So what I’ve learned over my journey is one of the most important practices that we need to practice for ourselves is having inner patience and saying it is okay for me to rest, it is okay that I’m not doing better. It’s also okay to decide that I need to push my boundaries a little bit stronger, but finding that perfect balance that works for you and your health is crucial. I wish you all the best on your journey to find out how to step into your Lyme light.”
