Maria Mooney’s Lyme Hack:

“Hi, everyone at Tick Boot Camp. My name is Maria Mooney, thank you so much for having me back (check out my podcast interview). This time, I wanted to do a little bit of a different video. The last time I gave a tip, I put makeup on, and I tried to make myself look like I wasn’t healing and treating something very difficult and dangerous. This time, it’s a treatment day for me, I’m home, I’m doing work from home, and I’m in my pajamas. And this is what I normally look like. I think that’s important to show because I work in social media, even though mental health is where my schooling is. And the standards to live up to for women and beauty. So there’s no makeup, there’s no filter, and it’s cloudy out so there’s some decent lighting. But the tip that I want to give this year is because a lot of the time my focus is around mental health, I think it’s so important that we understand ourselves and that we help other people understand that we’re not going to feel great mentally for so many reasons. But a big part of that is the fact that a lot of us have infections in our brains. And so when the infections die when we take certain things, they give off neurotoxins and that disrupts and inflames your brain and disrupts the neurotransmitter production. So we’ll feel ways that we don’t want to feel and sometimes we can’t control it. And I think the best thing to do is to be able to normalize that at this point because so many more people are now being diagnosed with late-stage Lyme and co-infections. And it’s a scary feeling at times, it can get very, very dark. And the best thing to do is to seek out support, but we have to talk to our support about this because it could come off as us being difficult, but it is literally our brains are inflamed. And again, it’s all very, very dangerous, you know, to have that going on. So I think it’s very important to make that clear. And I want to say all of you are rock stars for treating this. This is not easy. It never was. It’s day after day of grueling treatment. I don’t know what else is like this truly. So if any of you need any support, I’m here in my pajamas ready to give it to you. I think you’re all Earth Angels. Thank you so much for going on each day and continuing to do treatment because I know for a lot of us it is not easy to do.”
