Jenn Hyla’s Lyme Hack:

Detoxification support is crucial for Lyme patients! The most powerful way to support the detoxification system is by drinking plenty of high-quality filtered water throughout the day.

I’m betting you’ve heard of drinking at least 8 glasses of water daily, but did you know it also matters HOW you drink it?

Most of us wait until we feel pretty thirsty before taking a drink. This pang of thirst is a sign the body is already dehydrated.

Taking small sips of water throughout the day can keep the body hydrated and promote the cells to flush. Dr. Lee Cowden recommends drinking 2 oz of filtered water every 15 minutes during waking hours.

When a dehydrated body gets slammed with big gulps of water, it can’t process the fluid quickly enough, so it flushes right through the digestive system, and you’ll likely find yourself running to the bathroom in no time. This way of drinking leaves your cells thirsty.

Proper hydration requires more than just fluids. Keeping a balance of electrolytes in the body is also crucial. Sodium, potassium, calcium, bicarbonate, magnesium, chloride, and phosphate are essential.

Everyone’s needs vary greatly depending on nutritional intake. Some experimentation may be needed to find the proper dosage. You may have to pee a lot when you first begin to practice continuous water intake! It usually improves in a few weeks as your body adjusts.

This hack has helped me so much in my healing journey. Let me know if you try it and how it goes!
