Descent Into Illness
While in meetings with his colleagues at NASA, Greg unexpectedly experienced stabbing pains in his abdomen. Inflammatory foods would cause cramping, bloating, and sudden urgency in his bowels. His physician diagnosed him with irritable bowel syndrome. After several months of medications not helping, he had a growing fear of losing his career as a manager in a robotics lab.
