Dr. Bill Rawls’ Lyme Hack:
Bill Rawls, MD is kicking off our Lyme Hackathon with two great tips to help jumpstart your recovery!
First – find a way to move. It generates endorphins, it gets blood flowing, it washes out toxins, and more. Dr. Rawls walked his way back to health. Movement is really important for your recovery process.
If you can only walk a very short distance, even if it’s just around the block or through a grocery store, start with that. Keep doing it and gradually over time you will be able to move more without causing pain or symptoms.
If you aren’t able to walk because your tissues are so inflamed and you’re so debilitated from Lyme, then there are other types of movements you can do.
One of the biggest ones that Dr. Rawls also did is the practice of Qigong, which involves gentle back and forth movements. It’s really not vigorous at all, but it gets things moving and creates endorphins! Gentle yoga is another great option. TaiChi is a form of Qigong and is great also.
